Francisco Carreño

Francisco Carreño is a Spanish painter whose work explores the dialogue between landscape, memory, and cultural identity. Based in Granada, where he completed his Fine Arts studies and earned his PhD in Art History, Carreño has developed a career dedicated to the interpretation of natural and cultural heritage.

Alongside his well-known paintings of Sierra Nevada and the fertile Vega of Granada, Carreño has also forged a strong and lasting bond with Copenhagen. Over the last eight years, he has visited the city frequently, cultivating friendships and inspiration. For Gallery Puls Art, he presents a body of work specifically dedicated to the urban motifs, architecture, and atmosphere of Copenhagen, a city he knows intimately and portrays with sensitivity, combining realism, memory, and poetic interpretation.

His work has been exhibited widely in Spain and abroad, including Italy, Sweden, Denmark, and the UK. Whether depicting the monumental mountains of southern Spain or the streets of Copenhagen, Carreño’s painting seeks to preserve the fire of memory and transform places into living experience.
