Julio (1978) is an amazing self-taught artist. His impressive and realistic oil paintings reproduce an abundance of technical skill and details of perfection.

The works is very precise and describe Cuba as it is in all its amazing and picturesque decay. At the same time they interpret the Cuban life by commenting on the social and political landscape.

The paintings mix breathtaking trompe l’oeil with elements of magical realism and sometimes a touch of surrealism, which lends profundity to the composition. Julio’s talent is obvious and cannot be neglected.
