Atner Cadasio Gonzales - english

Atner (1971) has a degree in history of art from The University of Havana and is educated as an artist at The Academy of Fine Arts ”Oscar Fernández Morera” in Trinidad, where he holds a position as professor in history of art.

With a basis in the history of Cuba Atner’s oil paintings portray the mental landscape of the Cubans, which is contrasted and supported by the competent and often rather wild strokes of the brush and the vibrant layers of colour

The works raw profoundness depict a Cuba in political stagnation with a broad and sonorous range of colours. Atner paints with a competent skill for profundity and composition, which relates to Cuba as it is today.

Atner has exhibited his works in France and USA and has taught at The University of Toronto, Canada.
